Yarn
Manos del Uruguay CARDO (100% Corriedale wool; approx. 109 yds/100 g): 6 (7, 7, 8) (9, 10, 10) sks
Shown in D2040 Daffodil

US 10½/6.5 mm 36ā circular needle, or size needed to obtain gauge
US 10/6 mm 16ā to 20ā circular needle and 36ā circular needle
Cable needle
Stitch markers
Scrap yarn for stitch holders
Tapestry needle
Four 1¼ā buttons
GAUGE
15 sts and 21½ rows = 4ā/10 cm Textured Leaf pattern using larger needle.
NOTES
The lower body is worked in one piece to the underarms using a circular needle to accommodate the stitches, and then divides for working the upper back and fronts separately to the shoulders. The armhole edgings and the combined front bands with short-rowed collar are worked during finishing.
The lower body divides for the fronts and back in Row 8 of the pattern for all sizes. The 2 stitches bound off at each underarm are either the center stitches of a p4 group, or the center stitches of a k6 group when viewed from the RS. This allows the pattern to be mirrored on each side of the divide, so the pattern will match at the shoulders. Because of the placement of the underarm bind-offs, the combined fronts are wider than the back, which is a benefit for those who are wider in the front themselvesāmore common than being wider in the back!
The Textured Leaf pattern may be worked from the chart or from the written directions in the Stitch Guide.
SIZES
Finished Chest Circumference: 36¼ (41½, 46¾, 52¼) (57½, 62¾, 68¼)ā buttoned with 1½ā front bands overlapped
