Edgewise Mitts by Nina Holubcova

Edgewise Mitts, named after their sideways construction are a crochet take on classic ribbed fingerless mitts. Using simple half double crochet stitches worked into back loops creates a stretchy, lofty rib. The thumb gusset is shaped with slip stitch short rows. Can be worn pulled down over the fingers, or with the hem folded. Monokrom’s tonal ombrĂ© colours highlight the linear texture.

Pattern Notes:

The fingerless mitts are crocheted flat, sideways, starting with palm and knuckles. Next, a thumb gusset is shaped with slip stitch short rows. The edges are joined with slip stitch for a seamless finish.

Materials: 1 skein Urth Monokrom Fingering, shown in #3064

Sizes:

1(2, 3) to fit 6(7.25, 8.5)’’‹/15.5(18.5, 21.5)cm wearer’s hand circumference

The mitts are intended to be worn with negative ease. Size 1 is suitable for children, sizes 2 and 3 for adults.
