Manos del Uruguay SERENA (60% baby alpaca, 40% pima cotton; approx. 170 yds/50 g): 5 (5, 6, 7) (7, 8, 9, 9) sks MC, and 1 sk each of CC1 and CC2 for all sizes.

Needles & Notions
US 3/3.25 mm straight needles or 29ā circular needle, and 16ā circular needle, or size needed to obtain gauge
Spare circular needle same size or smaller than main needle for joining hems
Waste yarn for provisional cast-on
Stitch marker
Tapestry needle
GAUGE
25½ sts and 30½ rows = 4ā/10 cm in St st after blocking and hanging (see Notes).
NOTES
The back, front, and sleeves are worked separately, back and forth in rows, and then seamed together during finishing. The lower edge of the body is finished with a double-layer hem. The same technique used to join the bodyās folded hem is used for the three tucks on each sleeve cuff.
This luxurious, versatile blend of alpaca and cotton may require extra care when swatching to achieve the best results. Make a generous swatch, about 6ā to 8ā square. Wash the swatch according to the label instructions and lay flat to dry. Using clothespins or clips, hang the dried swatch overnight, and then check the gauge again.
